"The happiest people I know ... are those who, while in pursuit of worthy goals, discover and treasure the beauty and sweetness of the everyday moments. They are the ones who, thread by daily thread, weave a tapestry of gratitude and wonder throughout their lives. These are they who are truly happy." ~Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I pretty much think I can do anything...
I'm addicted to blogs about cake decorating and party hosting. This clearly inspired my attempt to make a fondant cake. I've seen plenty of great cakes and just started thinking that I thought I could do one. then I got thinking that that if I ever lose my job I should have a back up skill (aside from auditing) just in case. Next year I want to learn photography. This is a picture of my first fondant cake. I think that since I had no guidance whatsoever and it was a first attempt it turned out pretty well. (But I admit that I have quite a bit more respect for those who do these cakes. I learned a lot from this first experience...)
Best Two Buck Purchase in April
The best two dollar purchase I made in April was on a bunch of ten daffodils. They fit perfect in a champagne glass and brightened up the room tremendously. In fact, I got thinking that they'd make a great centerpiece. It's too bad I didn't put these into water for most of the day. The flowers got a little wilty...

Easter Temple Pageant
Every Easter season the Mesa Temple puts on a wonderful temple pageant telling the story of Christ and explaining the significance of His role in our lives. I love the pageant and always feel my testimony tremendously strengthened by attending. In particular, this year I loved seeing his entire life story and His works shown in a way that is respectful and moving in such a short period of time. Somehow it helped me wrap my mind (to a small extent) around the power of the Atonement and increased my feelings about the tremendous importance of who the Savior is. I came away with a better understanding of the Savior's roll in my life and want even more than before to follow in His footsteps and return home to Him. I know it's a bit late, but Happy Easter, everyone. I hope each of you found yourselves strengthened by the focus on the Savior and continue to do so by remembering it now.

First Friday Science Museum
On the first Friday of the month, the science museum opens up only for adults in the evening for free. What this really means is that the first Friday of every month finds adults acting like kids throughout the entire museum since we don't have to let all the kids test out the exhibits...
Rebecca and I tried out the bed of nails. It didn't hurt at all, although everyone seems pretty nervous trying it out the first time.
(I'm holding the button control that lifted the nails (and me) up.)

Our favorite exhibit is the video that takes digital pictures of you and then twists them into funny shapes. Here are just a few of our favorite results... i think I look a bit Harry Potter- creaturish, kind of like Dobby the house elf...don't you agree?

HECK YEAH.
Temple Gardening
A few weeks ago our singles ward did a service project at the temple. Actually, this was just hours before I went sky diving. Notice that my shirt is very dirty...because I was WORKING. Our job? Pull out all of the beautiful flowers to make room for new ones. I have to admit: it's kind of fun pulling flowers out of the flower beds. (I probably shouldn't admit that to little children, though.)
This was an opportune time to take a picture of my neighbors and I. Laurel (left side) and Markay (right side) are FABULOUS girls. We used to take turns doing dinner together before life got really crazy. I hope life gets a little less crazy sometime soon so we can start doing dinners again. HINT! HINT!!! :)

McKenzie and I also really enjoyed getting to use pitchforks to do the work. Obviously we were very serious about our business....
Catch up
