Utah and 32

So....obviously my family is very serious. And I love this picture of
Camille. She looks fantastic, and it makes me miss my blonde hair.
As chance would have it, I happened to be in Utah for my birthday. 32. It's a great age. (The reverse of 23, which happens to be one of my lucky numbers...hopefully this doesn't mean the opposite of good luck for me.) Anyway. Just being with family was a great treat for me. My extended family even threw a little surprise party for me. (Sadly, I didn't remember to take any pictures...)

How can I not love such great family?
Further evidence that it is impossible for the family to get together without joking around.
Lucky for me, the 24th of July parade had just finished up--or was coming up (we never really figured that out), and we were able to get our pictures taken on a float. Not that we asked the owner or anything. (We didn't. But if you leave a float with a large shoe on it out by the street, you're practically begging people to climb on it, right?)
This is probably where I should acknowledge having eated a large abundance of sweets on my birthday, and that I think everyone should celebrate birthdays for weeks on end. In all seriousness, thanks to the family for making a lovely evening of everything.
